The revolution of WordPress + my participation in the Wordcamp, Puerto Rico



I have been invited to be part of the WordPress Wordcamp event in Caguas, Puerto Rico on November 12, 2011.
This event will be part of the panel who will be talking about programming, other panels on design, content and general information will have.
So I think that is time to talk to them about the impact that I think the development of the CMS and the opportunity this provides to any internet marketer.
I use WordPress for more than 3 years or 4 years and evolution has been constant, could say WordPress put in the hands of many a unique opportunity to develop many businesses around this platform, opportunities that did not exist before that this tool is so popularized.
Since I started using WordPress I have developed more than 50 or 60 web sites with different features, not just websites but classified websites, a platform for social network made in wordpress using buddypress and wordpress mu (i.e. before that integrate both systems), a crm also made in wordpress and a web site with features similar to the twitter…esto is just a few of the projects that I remember.
Recently listening to the new product from Dan Kennedy, DNA Game Changer (the stressed the importance of knowing history, who has spent recent months or years in terms of marketing and business)
Am not going to make a historical biography of the development of the CMS but if I show them the opportunities that have been created.
When I started eight years ago to develop websites, things were not as simple as now, I remember having been long hours trying to install a shopping cart, setting up an OsCommerce version 0000 do not know what and the difficulty of handling this.
In addition to the web sites on the internet really looked ugly point, did not exist the CSS3 or HTML 5 now, work design and programming was almost impossible.
But despite all these limitations the business on the internet proliferated.
Many people began to sell information products online and earn thousands of dollars.
Why I mention this?
Every day I hear and leo of dozens of people complaining about approaches that fail to start their business on the internet or that it is extremely difficult.
Perhaps before today you could say this, not!
What is what you should know?
Something that I have always stressed about internet business is that you don't need to be a geek, programmer or web designer to start or to succeed in your business on the internet.
You just need to know basics about the business that you want to develop.
If you want to sell an information product, you must know who will be your customers.
If you want to sell physical products you must answer the question of why a person would buy your product rather than go to a store and buy it. What are these reasons.
But all this is essential. It has nothing to do with programming or design.
For quite some time when I started to develop letters of sale on the internet's first impression said "but is that these letters long and ugly, how is it possible that this sold?"
This course was part of my ignorance towards and sold on the internet.
As a web designer I was more aware about doing something nice instead of something effective.
These sales in html letters were a project and could take several weeks to develop all the code and style, that there was a wyswyg had to put each piece of code to bring a word in bold or underlined.
Until I get Salvation: WordPress
So, WordPress put in the hands of anyone who could simply install it the opportunity to use it as a tool to sell on the internet.
But if to this we add the plugins we have a Super winner.
From that came the launch of OptimizePress as a tool to create funeles for sale
I've seen dozens of releases made from WordPress.
This means that it is useful, easy to use and accessible to all.
But having better tools is not a synonym for generate more sales from scratch, possibly now is more difficult to sell because there is much more competition.
This is to be available these tools has also developed a large number of low quality products this elevates the scepticism of the customers and we play against.
So we will have to try again, but this time in the creation of one relationship more closely with customers, is no longer be simply a sales letter and already, we must now use a Blog, social networks among other things to let us know, otherwise possibly others in our same niche will be doing.
